With a vast collection of books, educational resources, and engaging programs, our team of friendly and knowledgeable librarians strive to inspire and empower children to explore their interests, expand their knowledge, and cultivate a lifelong love of reading!

Our collection is carefully curated to cater to children of all ages, from the tiniest tots to the inquisitive tweens. With your library card, you can check out books, movies, video games and much more!

From our play area to our coloring station, and monthly scavenger hunts, there is never a shortage of interactive fun for children of all ages.

Our Programs

From S.T.E.A.M programs and yoga to live theater and animal shows, we have
something for every age and every interest. We also host library-wide events for the entire family such as Noon Years Eve & Pokemon Day.

Weekly storytimes are offered for babies and toddlers. In addition, specialty and family storytimes are offered throughout the year.

Registration is required for all programs & storytimes unless otherwise stated.

Our Librarians

Miss Janet

Miss Janet has been a librarian at North Merrick Public Library for over 20 years. She has a lifelong love for children’s literature and enjoys reading to children of all ages. At the library you may find her hosting silly themed storytimes or maybe even a Bluey-Palooza themed celebration. Her favorite children’s book is Corduroy by Don Freeman.

Miss Lisa

Miss Lisa is a former teacher and has been a devoted public librarian for 7 years. She enjoys interacting with children & their families and being able to collaborate and work closely with the other librarians in the department. Miss Lisa finds joy in witnessing the excitement on a child’s face when she helps them find  the book they have been searching for. At the library you may find her building with the busy builders and getting messy with the messy munchkins. Her favorite children’s book is Mother Bruce by Ryan Higgins.

Miss Brittany

Miss Brittany is the Librarian Trainee in the children’s department. Miss Brittany has a passion for using her talents & interests to inspire & educate others. At the library you may find her showing off the children’s graphic novel & manga collection or hosting the monthly Pokemon club meeting. Brittany’s favorite children’s book is If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Numeroff.
