Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library is a group of volunteers who meet regularly and contribute to the success of the North Merrick Public Library. The decision to form the group was made on November 23, 1964.
The Friends host the perpetual book sale that is located at the front entry of the library. They also regularly replenish a book cart at the Merrick Train Station that is filled with free books.
Items donated by the Friends to the library include furniture, a set of magnifiers, and the first eReaders that were offered to the public.
The group usually meets one Saturday per month. Meeting dates appear on the library calendar of events and in the library’s newsletter. Community members are welcome to participate in the Friends.
You can support the group by making an annual contribution through membership. Individual membership is $5.00. Family memberships is $10.00. Membership forms can be found at this link:
